about

This digital comp was created for three purposes.

The first being to make music more accessible. We have compiled 20 tracks from generous bands to give to the public for an affordable price. We've tripled the amount of music you would get for $7.

The next reason is to elevate voices in our music community that are often not heard. We’d like to help amplify those who are marginalized so that we can help to create a culture that is representative of all of us, not just those of the majority. We’d like to showcase those who use their platforms for good.

The final purpose this compilation was put together was to help a project called Safer Scenes. All proceeds will go to this initiative to help prevent assault, discrimination, and harassment within the music scene, concentrated in much needed areas such as music festivals. A team of experts are partnering with the feminist punk band War On Women from Baltimore, MD. Together they will be traveling with Vans Warped Tour and bringing with them a social initiative to encourage bystander intervention. They will be raising awareness and teaching skills to help people prevent and better respond to all forms of harassment (sexism, racism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc.) in their local communities. They will collaborate with survivors, local activists, and allies to better understand street harassment, ignite public conversations, and develop innovative strategies to ensure equal access to public spaces.

We'd like to first and foremost thank those who purchase this benefit comp to help contribute to a much needed cause. Next, we'd like to express gratitude for all of the artists who participated in this project. And finally, a big thank you to Kira-Lynn Ferderber and Autumn Lavis for bringing the Safer Scenes initiative to Warped Tour and making strides to combat the issues in the music industry.
